Friday's TPM Daily Dozen (September 6, 2013)

Chart Chat Looking at today's stats, it appears all but certain that Robin Thicke's BLURRED LINES will get an eighth (and final?) week at TPM Number One on the next weekly Super Sixty, due Sunday. Today, though, its airplay losses continue with a -201 bringing the total plays tally down to 20,793 ... LOVE SOMEBODY will not go all the way, the first from Maroon 5 not to reach #1 at TPM since MOVES LIKE JAGGER. Still the runner-up, SOMEBODY today posts a -299 to keep it 1917 behind #Thicke's "Official TPM Super Summer Song of 2013" ... Up this week 4-3, SAFE AND SOUND is still growing, today adding another 153 plays from Thursday. Is the hit from Capital Cities a contender for the TPM Penthouse? ... Surely a contender for the top spot, Katy Perry's ROAR roars upward from 7-6 and possibly on its way to fifth by Sunday. ROAR is again the Top TPM Gainer in Today's Twelve, +441 ... Also up today, I NEED YOUR LOVE/Calvin Harris with Ellie Goulding, 9-8, +81 plays ... Today's second biggest gain is +172 for Lana Del Rey's SUMMERTIME SADNESS, looking for an 11-10 rise ... The Top 12 Songs of the Day, every day, from "Total Popular Music" - 'Today's Mass Appeal Hit Music Radio Format' - All the Hits for All the Listeners!

Our exclusive Total Popular Music charts -- the weekly Super Sixty and our TPM Daily Dozen, as well as the weekly "Projections Monitor 30" -- offer an objective base for programming our exclusive all-ages TPM Mass Appeal Hit Music Radio Format. Ranks are determined from monitored airplay across the two main chart-influencing components of Total Popular Music -- CHR/Top 40 and Hot Adult (Hot AC/Adult Top 40) -- to afford the greatest strength to songs doing extremely well at both components, while not neglecting or omitting songs currently charting on only one of them.

While our TPMusic Charts are primarily intended for programming our TPM Mass Appeal Hit Music Radio Format, they are also valuable tools for Adult Top 40 stations and Mainstream Top 40s with an Adult/Pop emphasis, assisting in programming Today's Hit Music for an adult audience. Our exclusive TPMusic Charts offer Hot AC/Adult Top 40 program directors a tool for knowing when adults have accepted a CHR/Top 40 hit, as well as helping Top 40 Radio PDs identify the increasing number of songs that are crossing over from Hot Adult.

There Are Many Hit Music Charts ... But There's Only One ... Total Popular Music!
