Wednesday's TPM Hit Music Daily Dozen (January 9, 2013)

First off, as new Top 40 stations join the airplay totals, in addition to the return of post-holidays normalcy, every song but one on today's Daily Dozen shows a day-to-day gain, including all but one of those on a losing trend. The bigger gains are those that indicate true upward trending ... The first two of Today's Twelve both continue posting strong gains, with Bruno Mars' LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN (+274) still strong at Number One, while The Lumineers' HO HEY (+318) presents an ever-stronger challenge to be our next TPM topper. LOCKED, #1 at CHR-Top40 is likely to (soon) take over the top from HO HEY at our Hot Adult component, while HO HEY appears to be on target to (eventually) take over the top at CHR-Top40 from LOCKED. On today's Daily Dozen, Bruno Mars sees his lead shrink to 2548 total plays over The Lumineers ... P!nk's TRY adds 212 plays from Tuesday, but Taylor Swift's I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE (only 66 plays behind yesterday) is +523 and passes TRY today ... Also with a "real" gain, Ed Sheeran's THE A TEAM (+228) ... And the Justin Bieber/Nicki Minaj collaoration BEAUTY AND A BEAT (+316) is up today 11-10 ... The only song showing a loss of total plays is Ne-Yo's LET ME LOVE YOU (-151) at the bottom of the Top 12 Songs of the Day - from TOTAL Popular Music - 'The NEW Mass Appeal Hit Music Radio Format!'
