The new weekly Total Popular Music Super Sixty, for the week of December 16, 2012, has now been published at TotalPopularMusic.com.
Bruno Mars' LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN continues gaining total plays, nearing 19,000 (18,935), more than 4,200 total plays ahead of the next gaining song, and easily begins a second week at Number One on the new Super Sixty, now online. The strongest short range contender for the next top-tune-topper is The Lumineers' HO HEY, up this week 7-5, adding 2211 total plays to be our second greatest of this week's Greatest Gainers -- but a short range change doesn't appear likely ... P!nk's TRY, 11-10, +1105 total plays (4th greatest of the gainers), is also a strong candidate for TPM Number One, as are several songs skyrocketing further down for a longer range change ... That includes this week's top Greatest Gainer, up 18-14, Taylor Swift's I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE, which adds
2281 total plays ... Third greatest of the gainers, up 38-30, is SCREAM & SHOUT from will.i.am and Britney Spears, adding 1307 plays ... Fifth of 19 top gainers, Maroon 5's DAYLIGHT. +1102, up 26-23, just ahead of LITTLE THINGS from One Direction 32-27, +1079 ... The top debut on the new Sixty, at 45 (from Hitbound last week), is THRIFT SHOP from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis with Wanz ... Total Popular Music is the PPM-friendly 'NEW Mass Appeal Hit Music Radio Format' -- an exclusive service of Mark Harris Broadcast Consulting.
Below is a close-up look at some of the highlights. First, the 20 top songs with week-to-week airplay data, and then a summary of this week's Greatest Gainers. (I plan to soon offer even more of the weekly chart information at this new location for Total Popular Music).
