Happy New Year from Total Popular Music! It is official today: Bruno Mars' LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN is the first TPM Number One song of 2013. Day-to-day airplay stats, though, show more holiday-related fluctuations, with the first six all losing total plays, while only three songs on Today's Twelve post gains. One of the gainers is fun.'s SOME NIGHTS, which has been in decline, but benefits from an end of year top hits boost. Meanwhile, starting today, for a few days, we are publishing two versions of the Daily Dozen -- with the second version based on our new methodology being adopted with the new year.
